Bovine, Swine, & Small Ruminants

Hydraulic Haul-In Processing Facilities

Picture
When you haul your cattle into us, we only use the best. Our Silencer hydraulic chute is known to fit almost any size of cattle you bring. We also now have a hydraulic adjustable Daniels Manufacturing alleyway made to adjust to big bulls or small calves. For those calves too small, we do have a calf alleyway and table for spring time work. If hoof care is what you're looking for, we do have an electric tilt table for easier handling.

Portable Chutes for Farm Calls

Picture
Too many to haul in? Don't worry we can come to you. We have three different styles of portable chutes for all your cattle working needs. Our go to is a standard Pearson style that can adjust to calves or cows. We also have a scale chute, if you're looking for weights. And for branding time we have a Powder River style table for you to safely and swiftly get your calves ready for pasture.

Processing

Picture
Processing is a service mostly pertaining to cattle. We offer our services to help quickly and efficiently move your cattle through the chute and back out to the pen. Our typical processing involves castration, vaccination, deworming, implants, and branding(optional). Our work can either be done in clinic or at your facilities, whichever works better for your herd. We bring all necessary equipment, products, and help.

Hospitalization

Picture
Mostly used during calving season for baby calves, our "ICU" is a climate controlled room used to separate sick calves from healthy ones. This process typically involves IV catheters, fluids, antibiotics and feedings. Although, we do hospitalize other animals and they are typically kept in a stall in a different barn to avoid cross contamination.

Herd Health Consultation

Picture
Whether you're looking to start a new vaccine program, or mass treating is on your mind, we're here to guide you in the right direction. Over the phone or in person, our doctors can guide you through your next phase of animal herdsmanship. With a herd health consult, we form a better Veterinary-Client-Patient relationship and learn what is best for you and your operation.

In-House Diagnostics

Picture
Sometimes a diagnosis requires more than a physical exam. Lucky for us we have some of the best diagnostic equipment right in our building! Whether its blood testing or looking at a fecal, our technicians get results quick and efficiently. And for more advanced testing, we have access to the nations top laboratories across the country with quick turn around times.

Breeding Soundness Exams

Picture
Breeding Soundness Exams, or BSE as most people know it, are extremely common around here during the late winter, spring, and summer months. Our equipment is built for bulls, rams, and bucks. A typical BSE consists of collection of a semen sample, analysis of the sample checking for motility and morphology abnormalities, and a general physical exam to ensure your animal is ready to breed.

Nutrition & Ration Analysis

Picture
When it comes to feeding your animals, there's more to it then just some grass and water. The health of your livestock can depend a lot on their nutrition. We offer basic cow/calf(and other species) nutrition consultation to find the right feed system for your operation. We can assist with feed testing, formulate a ration using Iowa State Software program, and help with mineral decisions. Sometimes your herd may need an antibiotic additive, which we carry in house along with different types of mineral.

Palpation & Ultrasound Pregnancy Diagnosis

Picture
Preg checking your herd is one of the most profitable options for raising livestock. By preg checking and finding opens this will eliminate feeding an open animal and increase profitability in your herd. We offer two different ways to preg check your herd. First is by palpation which is the most commonly used in cattle. Second is the ultrasound method. Ultrasound is a great option for early pregnancy detection and is best utilized when the animal is in the early stages of gestation. For some species, ultrasound is the only option.

In-House Pharmacy & Prescriptions

Picture
We offer a wide variety of pharmaceuticals to treat your every need. Carrying brands like Zoetis, Merial, Boehringer-Ingelheim, and others we have a range of antibiotics, vaccines, and products. With a current Veterinary-Client-Patient relationship, we can help you find the right solution to help your animals. And if there's something we don't have we can order it or approve a prescription for it elsewhere.

General Surgery

Picture
Surgery is not always the first thought when it comes to livestock but we do offer general surgeries such as hernia repair, vasectomies, eye enucleations, waterbelly, wound repair, surgical dehorns, and others are some that we offer on site. For more intense surgery, referrals to Veterinary Teaching Hospitals such as Kansas State or Iowa State are common.

Obstetrics/C-Section

Picture
No matter if it's calving, lambing, kidding, or farrowing we are here to assist your livestock moms with all their birthing needs. All of our veterinarians and staff are trained to assist in difficult labor of any species. We have a climate controlled enclosed barn with a designated area for birthing. All veterinarians are also available for C-Sections should a natural birth not be able to happen. All animals go home the same day as long as they are stable and able to load back up.

Electronic CVI's & VFD's

Picture
CVI's or Certificate of Veterinary Inspection, more commonly known as Health Papers, are a service we are more than happy to offer. They are an inspection of your animal(s) to check for any skin lesions, deformities, or infections that may be transmissible to other animals. These certificates are needed to cross state lines and attend most shows/events. Health Papers are now available to you online through My Vet Link. Once a profile is made, you can access and print your papers anytime.
VFD's or Veterinary Feed Directive, is a prescription for an antibiotic feed additive for your herd. These are also accessed through a profile you create at My Vet Link. Once approved by a Veterinarian, a prescription is sent to your feed supplier and a copy is sent to you which you can access through your profile on the My Vet Link site.

CVI's and VFD's can be accessed or profiles can be made at www.myvetlink.com
